Every so often, it’s worth stepping outside the workshop and the sample room to just be a team. Last Saturday, the Nice Bags crew spent the afternoon hiking Qingyuan Mountain, right here in Quanzhou.
None of us had real hiking experience, and it showed in the planning—we spent the days before scouring online guides and trail maps, since Qingyuan Mountain has a reputation for being easy to get lost on if you don’t know where you’re going. We started around 2:30pm on Saturday, and by the time we hit the trailhead, the heat had cleared out just about everyone else—we barely passed another hiker the whole way up. It was our first time actually following a route we’d mapped out ourselves, and we were relieved to make it up without a single wrong turn.
The real reason we picked hiking, honestly, is that most of us spend our weeks at desks or on the production floor and rarely get real exercise. It wasn’t an easy climb in that heat, but reaching the top and seeing the whole city open up below us made every sweaty step worth it.
It’s a small thing, but moments like these matter. Behind every custom backpack order is a team that actually knows each other—and days like this are a good reminder of why that consistency shows up in the quality of what we ship.
